Great American blog novel, or typical Ben update?
It's about time for my monthly update, so I thought I'd make a post this evening since it's been a pretty darn busy week. I tried to break it up into sections for the benefit of those who allegedly have trouble reading more than three lines at a time:

-- Monday: Finally received the TiBook I bought off Alex when he got one of those shiny new aluminum ones. The package had actually arrived the previous Thursday, but stupid UPS had delivered it straight to the housing office for my apartment (2 blocks away) without even trying my apartment first, and then failed to notify me that they had even delivered it. Usually they leave a tag or something. When I opened the box, however, and saw the bag of swedish fish Alex had thrown in, it made it all worth the wait =) Now I get to fix up the TiBook (it needs a new battery and the dvd drive mechanism is messed up), and then I get to decide whether I want to keep it or sell it on eBay.
-- Monday Night: Had my last band concert of the semester, which went pretty well in spite of the frantic pace of it all. Had some good music this time around and some really talented accompanists/soloists. Sadly, it will be the last chance I get to play that nice BC the school rented to me, unless I'm lucky enough to get it next fall. The plan is to buy my own this summer, though...
-- Tuesday: Played poker with some people from the lab and managed to finish third. Nothing really remarkable happened though, other than I went out with pocket aces and the other guy called my all in with nothing but a pair of nines ... until he picked up a second pair on the river. =\
-- Thursday: Had the opportunity to play soccer with some folks from the lab. Have to say that even with the awesome concert on Monday this was the highlight of the week. Hadn't played since last summer, so I was a bit rusty, but it was a low-key game and was a lot of fun. I look forward to playing weekly now, assuming that we can keep getting a good number of people to show up. I paid the price for not having moved like that in almost 6 months, though; I am so sore today I can hardly walk without limping, though I think my lower back has taken the worst of it.
-- Tomorrow: Got an email earlier this week from my grandparents saying that they had made it back from Florida and were now up at the lake. Also mentioned that the crappies were biting pretty good, so I am going up there tomorrow to see my grandparents and do a little fishing. Hopefully I can bring back enough fish with me to make a few decent meals =)
